 Student Scientific Paper Writing Workshop Activity Report 

To improve the capacity, competence, and skills of students in academic writing and international scientific publications, the Mataram University Library Unit (UPA) successfully held a Student Scientific Paper Writing Workshop with the theme: 

"International Publication as a Pillar of Increasing Academic Competitiveness" 

Event Details 

This activity was held on: 

• Day/Date: Thursday, October 30, 2025
• Time: 8:00 AM - Finish
• Venue: Seminar Room, 3rd Floor, UPA, Mataram University Library
• Auditors: Undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students, as well as librarians and library managers

Materials and Speakers
This workshop featured speakers from academics and professionals with expertise in the field of international scientific publications, including:

1. Prof. Aris Doyan, Ph.D. (Lecturer, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Unram / Writer, International Reviewer)
    Topic: Tips and strategies for publishing in reputable journals
2. Dr. Subhan Purwadinata, SE., ME.
    Topic: Understanding the Review Process and Publication Ethics
3. Dr. Supratman, M.Pd.
    Topic: Journal Selection Strategy and Impact Factor + Techniques for Writing Effective Abstracts and Keywords
4. The Springer Nature Team
    Topic: SpringerNature-Based International Journal Search Practice

The comprehensive material presented covers scientific writing techniques, publication strategies, and developing students' academic traditions.
 
Expectations and Impact
 
Through this activity, participants are expected to:

1. Gain insight, experience, and knowledge related to scientific writing techniques and publication strategies.
2. Understand the review process and publication ethics, as well as tips and strategies for publishing in reputable journals.
3. Improve skills in international journal searches and writing effective abstracts.

The active participation of students and other participants in the presentations, discussions, and practical sessions (including interactive small-group discussions) demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm for developing their scientific publication skills. This activity is expected to be a sustainable step in building a strong academic tradition and strengthening the role of Mataram University students as productive agents through international-standard scientific papers.
